One week before Christmas, my aunt Debbie passed away. She had been in and out of the hospital and rehabilitation center for the past six months. And while there is some uncertainty about her actual cause of death, one thing for certain, I know that she is in a better place and is no longer suffering.
Debbie is the oldest sister of my father. Although I was not as close to my father’s side of the family as I was to my mother’s side, Debbie would always come to all of my events (graduation, wedding, children’s birthday parties, etc).

That’s what DeShawn Snow and the DeShawn Snow Foundation are doing through their girl-focused initiatives. Snow is a star of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta and wife of NBA great Eric Snow. But, she’s not your average socialite. This mother of three is using her star power to help build a generation of strong young women. Her foundation’s latest success carved out a space for girls between the ages of 11 and 17 to become their best selves.

We Believe in Angels
While it seems the media would have the world believe positive, productive young people are a myth, groups like the DeShawn Snow Foundation’s Angels are proof positive that there is still hope.
In partnership with the Atlanta’s Andrew and Walter Young Family YMCA, the DSF Angels program has – for the second year in a row – taken a group of young women who were targeted to fail and turned their lives upside down.

I woke up this morning hoping that yesterday was just a bad dream. WRONG
Yesterday was a really bad day for me--even though I had a photo shoot for my first national cover of a magazine. I had to part ways with two very important members of my team. I was really hurt by it all. I guess I was just caught off guard.

Since the announcement of our show, I have been asked a lot of questions regarding my experiences with it. I want to respond today to the most frequently asked questions.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta is a series that follow five glamorous Atlanta women and their families as they balance motherhood, demanding careers and a fast-paced social calendar. The show is a fly-on-the-wall glimpse into the lives of Atlanta’s social set. The series is schedule to premier on October 7, 2008 on Bravo and will be seven episodes.
