Action is fierce.
Action does not give up.
Action prepares you for opportunity.

One of the most common vision killers (and joy stealers) is being distracted from the action you’re supposed to take. When you take your eyes off of Jesus and what He’s placed in your heart, your strength will fail.

Romans 12:4-8 says, “We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.”

In other words, stay in your lane. Do what God has placed in your heart to do, and let others do what’s in theirs.

Another common dream killer is failing to tap into the anointing and power of God. Romans 8:19 says that the whole creation waits for the revealing of the sons and daughter’s of the Most High God. That’s you and me. The same power that raised Christ from the grave is available to you and I today. We have to tap into that anointing and power. Not just tap into it a little bit, but let our entire lives be influenced by God’s anointing.

Don’t block your anointing by trying to do everything in your own strength. As God’s children, God’s anointing is available to us all, but it is up to us to invite Him in to help and strengthen us. Sometimes we let our own guilt and shame keep us from seeking God’s anointing. This is ridiculous. God loves us all equally, and no one is more entitled to God’s anointing more than another. The Bible says that once we ask for forgiveness, all of our sins are on the ocean floor. We can’t let guilt keep us from flourishing in God.

Be careful, though. You can have incredible vision, purpose, scriptural knowledge and more; but, if you do not forgive yourself once God has forgiven you, you will not be able to completely fulfill your vision.  Avoid these other vision killers, too:  thinking someone else can do it better, fear, lack of drive, insecurity and jealousy.

We get to come to the Father daily and give him all of these issues. He, in return, makes us able to overcome. The Bible is clear that our spirit man wages war against our flesh. This isn’t an abnormal thing. This is a daily thing! But the stronger we get with God, the easier it is recognize when our flesh is fighting us.

God wants to enlarge your tents, so to speak.  His plans for all of us are huge, and He wants to see us enacting them. Get in agreement with Him, daily fight your flesh, and let Him use you. You’ll see your vision becoming action, and your action become the opportunity of a lifetime!

Here are just a few reminders to keep you on the path toward your destiny:

  • Don’t be distracted from your God-appointed action.
  • Stay in your lane. Don’t try to direct someone else’s actions – focus on your own.
  • Use God’s strength. You don’t have enough of your own to create real action.
  • Give all of your personal issues to God.

Re: Keep Your Eyes On The Prize

When I read July 8th daily devotional it really hit home with me during the past few days I've really come to the realization that for way to long I've let fear and guilt keep me from many of Gods blessings fear that if I try something I may think is to big of a challenge for me I may fall flat on my face, but now I'm focusing on how each challenge can bring more glory to God that by showing that through god anything is possible. No challenge is to big for God to bring you through. Thank you and wishing you a blessed day.

Re: Keepe your eyes on the Prize

Thank you very much for July 8th daily devotional. The words you have said has hit me so hard, as I have allowed fear and doubt, also what others think, and say about me to hinder my walk with God,and fulfilling His plan and purpose in my life. I have a 10 year old daughter, Iwould not like to see her visions and dreams dashed as mine was, so again, thank you for opening my eyes. May God bless you and your family always.

Deshawn:

I agree as a school administrator, wife and mother, my day to day life gets exremely busy. I am finishing up the last stages of my PhD and it seems as if my focus has been diverted in so many different directions. I know that GOD has a purpose for me and I am suppose to be doing something great but before I can do anything I need to finish school. I ran into some problems recently that had me thinking this would never happen, but reading your devotional has helped me to remember to prioritize and give the personal and things not of my control to the Lord, and everthing else will fall into place. Thanks for your devotions they truly are a blessing.

Re: Keep Your Eyes On The Prize

When I saw your picture on the page for streaming faith I almost kept browsing but I was moved to come back, look closer and click on your blog. The words are anointed by God and were spoken to change lives, thank for the reminder to " Keep Your Eyes on the Prize". The enemy comes for no other reason but to kill, steal and destroy our mission, our joy and our vision. He has come to take our life, But I am so glad that Jesus came to give us Life and that more abundantly. I am reminded of Isaiah 50:7-9; For the Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be comfounded, therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed. 8. He is near that justifieth me, who will contend with me? Let us stand together, Who is mine adversary? let him come near to me. 9. Behold the Lord will help me, who is he that shall condemn me, lo they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shalll eat them up. Thank you Father and thank you Deshawn for not being distracted from your God appointed action. Grace and peace to you and yours my sister.

Re: Keep Your Eyes On The Prize

This is so true! Everything Mrs. Snow that you have said is the truth. It's good to see someone so to speak of your status serving the Most High God! So many times we forget where we come from and we forget to give thanks or forget to reach back and affect someone else life. You have been encouraging others , NOW let me take the time to say .......
You are a blessing to the kingdom of God. You are on the right track, God is so pleased with you.You have the heart of a servant and this is why God isgoing to use you evenmore in a greater magnitude. And I can sense that God has been dealing with you even in a greater way. Stay focused ,and definately be encouraged, the BEST is yet to come. May God continue to smile upon you and your family.

Re: Keep Your Eyes On The Prize

This passage was very good, especially in the current season of my life. I have recently decided to go back to school, and I'm rather overwhelmed because I have been out of school for almost 10 yrs. I graduated from high school in 2001, started working, and took a class here, and there, but now that I'm going back and trying to tackle this I'm really nervous. I know that by keeping my eyes on the prize, and staying focused I will be able to accomplish anything that I put my mind to doing.

Re: Keep Your Eyes On The Prize

This is so true and I am working on all three points. The one that stood out the most to me was don't be distracted from your God appointed action and fear. Starting today I am moving all distraction from my live and fear. I know its not going to happen at once because God said by little and little I will drive them out from before thee until thou be increased, and inherit the land.

Thank you Deshawn for these encouraging words.
