Women of God, you and I all have a destiny to pursue, to change this world for the glory of God; but there is one essential secret, the key that must unfold and carry on to unlock the potential in your life – the key that changes ordinary lives to extraordinary lives is purpose and vision.

Vision uses momentum to keep going. It’s not killed by hardships, people, or situations. It perseveres through the storms, the persecution, and the voices that say, “You can never accomplish this.” Vision always prevails. It is a fierce, hungry tiger. Vision and purpose will carry you throughout your life.

My life was once the epitome of ordinary, but because of vision and determination, God transformed mine to an extraordinary life. I will keep working out this God-given vision as it takes me further. I will use all the energy I have until I leave this earth.  You, too, can bring vision to life – when the vision is from God.

To be effective, vision must be paired with determination.  Determination is a wonderful asset to have. It’s a strong energy that gives life to our vision. I always had determination growing up. As I said in the opening of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” I always knew I was destined for greatness. I knew I could get past the hard situations I might have faced while growing up.

I always believed in taking lemons and making a lemon meringue pie!  But it was not until a few years ago that purpose was birthed into my spirit. That birthing was the result of truly being at rest spiritually and surrendering my entire life to God.

To the world, before my purpose was birthed, I seemed like I had it all together:  The NBA husband, the big houses, the big cars, the diamonds, designer clothes, and my own individual successes. But none of that mattered, because I was not operating in divine alignment. I wasn’t satisfied. Nevertheless, God was always faithful, just as He will be to you.

Why Is Vision Important?

A God-given vision ignites a passion in your spirit. You’re passionate about life, and it radiates through your entire being. As children of God, we who are in covenant relationship with the Father have the upper hand in life. Not only will we benefit from determination and vision, but also the Holy Spirit lives in us, strengthens us, and anoints us to do what we’re called to do. God can open doors that no man can shut.

You are anointed to fulfill your destiny.  That means you are empowered and equipped to fulfill your vision. However, there is something we have to do. We have to find the purpose for our lives.  Everyone’s will be different.

A lot people are ready for an epiphany. I was. But let me encourage you!  You don’t have to travel all the way to the Holy Land to find it. (That was just my experience.) You don’t have to spend a lot of money to find your purpose. In fact, you don’t have to spend any money at all!

Check out these three things you can do to help realize your purpose:

  • Spend time alone with God. Set aside a few hours each day to clear your mind and focus on the Father. The more you spend time with a person, the more you understand his heart. Your relationship with the Lord is no different.
  • Keep a notepad or journal nearby as He speaks to you. You can write down what you hear in the Spirit, and review and expand upon it later.
  • Think of things you would enjoy doing even if you didn’t get paid for it. That’s where your passion is. Find ways to take that passion and use it for God’s glory.

What a powerful statement. I must agree with you totally and add that while we are women of purpose and vision we have to be women of faith. And that the power to enter into our vision is the WORD. I have been listening to D Lawrence a lot lately and I just wanted to encourage you as you encourage others. Check it out......There is royalty in you.
