Love and Relationships

In life many times we become the main agenda. Most of the time we get upset because we think it is about us. Even our prayers are about us. It is a spirit of lust.

Love gives at the expense of the giver (self). Lust takes at the expense of others. Lust is progressive in nature; you cannot satisfy a lustful spirit.

It has been very hard for me in the past to develop lasting relationships. I have been burned many, many times—from childhood best friends to family members. I learned at an early age that at the end of the day, the only person I could count on was myself.

Love is patient. While it is waiting, it is kind.

I would go through life always second-guessing people and not getting emotionally attached.   Eventually it got to the point where it didn’t affect me at all. It was very simple for me to just cut people out of my life and never look back. I learned later in life that the coping mechanism I developed was very unhealthy. I knew that in order for me to walk in the full glory of God, I had to release the bitterness. I had to pray to God to soften my heart and to allow myself to forgive.

I received a message in bible study one day that was very relevant to my situation. I was reminded that we serve a God that is all about relationships. The people closest to us will determine the outcome of our life. Life is built on relationships. Proverb 18:1 says that an unfriendly man pursues selfish ends; he defiles all sound judgment. You can’t isolate yourself. This celebrates selfishness. We are not made to be dependent but interdependent.

Our highest potential is only realized when we take the risk to believe in one another. We need to become transparent. We don’t need to be involved with temporary relationships.

The following are requirements for a relationship:

  • Invite people in your space who can make deposits in your life and in the lives of others.
  • Spend time with giving people. It’s not about the amount; it’s about the heart.
  • Spend time sowing word seeds into people who are ready to make life changes. Be mindful of whether or not my word is respected.
  • Use the term friend lightly. A true friend is always loyal and a brother is born to help in time of need (Proverbs 17:17 TLB)
  • Have friends that value God’s word more than relationships. They must be willing to correct you when you are wrong.
  • Have someone to walk with that will stand up for you when you are not around. If someone is silent, that means they are in agreement.
  • Be around people that will get you excited.

Marriage is the perfect example of a giving relationship. In Ephesians 5:21-22, we are taught to honor Christ by submitting to each other. We, as wives, are instructed to submit unto our husband’s leadership in the same way that we submit to the Lord.

Submission for all of us is a daily challenge-especially for those of us who are used to controlling situations.

If you don’t die to your ambitions, desires, and flesh, you will never walk in the fullness of the glory of God. Likewise, with marriage and other relationships we must consistently strive to live a life of sacrifice as Christ did for us!

Well babygirl, looks like you're on the right track. Praying is definitely the number 1 thing you should be doing. Next, do you have a church home? If not, I would dilignetly seek one. It is very important that you surround yourself and your children in a spiritual environment. If you have access to the internet then you can go to my church, The Inspiring Body of Christ, Pastor Rickie G. Rush, in Dallas, Texas. www.ibocjoy.org . He has services on Sunday at 7:30am, 10:30am, and 12:30pm, and on Mondays at 7pm, until you find one. All of the services are broadcasted live on the internet at these times. Right now, satan is clearly trying to attack you. The bible says that
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. - John 10:10
satan, "the thief", wants to kill you! This is very serious. But, here's a little secret: the best way to make satan flee is to praise God! Anytime you feel depressed or down, just praise God. Tell God you love Him, thank Him for all that he's done for you...even the small things. Thank God just for Him being Him. All of these things are praising God. I know, from experience, that this works!

Also, remember that you are made in the image of God. You are a child of God! So, if God is the King of Kings (which He is), then this makes you what? God's princess! Love, you are capable of more things than you thought! You have more power than you thought! You are royalty!!! Once we know this, we've got to act like it. God gave us power and authority, through Jesus Christ, over ALL things. When you feel like satan is trying to get the best of you, you remember that God specifically gave YOU the power to stop him. Simply tell satan to leave you, in the name of Jesus and began to praise God. According to God, the devil HAS to flee! Love, exercise your power to get the things that you want and need. Remember, our Daddy (God) is rich and ALL powerful! Just ask and it's yours! He love us that much!

I pray that this helps. I pray that you allow God to work things out in your life. I pray that you fight. Not physically or mentally, but I Timothy 6:12 tells us,
Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
Satan is after our faith. If we loose faith in God, we loose everything. So, I pray that your faith is strenghtened in the name of Jesus! I love you and so does God! Feel free to contact me if you need, vbrown@hotmail.com

Hi babygirl,

I agree with the ladies. Seek first the kingdom of heaven and continue to have faith. I think that you may be a spiritual person and if you feel that you need to talk to someone, there is always your pastor, 1st lady of the church, or a female member of your chuch that you great respect for. Keep God first and remember when the world pushes you to your knees, you're in the perfect position to pray. Keep the faith and remember that prayer changes things.

Pray
Until
Something
Happens
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Smile, God Loves You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Babygirl,
keep your head up hear it a scripture to give you some encouragement.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Ask your Father God to put a hedge of protection around you and your children, and he will. He knows your heart, and your thoughts. Know that He will never leave you, in your times of despare.
